Peer Mentorship Program
Gain support from a Peer Mentor who will show you how to succeed.
Under the Peer Mentorship Program, successful juniors and seniors are matched with freshman students enrolled in the Freshman Connection Program. Peer Mentors meet with students individually outside of class and are responsible for maintaining regular contact with students throughout the semester. In addition, Peer Mentors attend regular class meetings of the Freshman Connection Program and, along with the faculty mentor, co-facilitate in-class sessions on strategies for academic success, such as the value of attendance, time management, use of resources on campus, taking notes in class, goal setting, etc. Interactions between the Peer Mentors and the mentees include one-on-one meetings, academic resource activities and cultural event activities on campus.
